These are some of the questions I find myself brewing over. I, ones, was a vivid gamer. Played all sorts of games, but found the most entertainment out of computer games. Console never did the trick for me for some reason...
I personally have played and still play the following:
- Americas Army
- Counter Strike : Source
- Diablo II : LOD
- World of Warcraft
- The Sims
- Age of Empires II : Age of Kings
Some of these games have been good to me and some have not. Lets take Americas Army for example to start with. This is the game I had a chance to go pro with, the only thing that kept me from reaching that goal was my computer not being able to handle all the maps that I would need to play and the fact that educations comes first. Don't get me wrong though education is important and I wouldn't give it up for games.
At one point I knew every little fact about the maps and could always place myself in the right spot to avoid getting hit, yet maintain the ability to kill my opponents. Lets face it, its never 1 vs 1 in that game. I have met a lot of great players, some of which I continue to pwn with in World of Warcraft that could have made it to the top with me. We at one point have been signed up for a league to make money for our tournaments, but later were removed because we refused to use IRC. Through out this experience the game continued to be fun and like any other game it had its ups and downs. After the unreal engines were introduced to the game they brought with them a series of lag spikes and increased computer requirements. This one thing almost killed the game, a lot of people quit, and only a handful of hardcore gamers remained. Yet soon after it got another update which brought some people back and made the game even more enjoyable. But sadly by that time I was worn out by the community, blamed for cheating on our LOCKED clan server where cheats were turned ON for us to screw around. This was a common thing with all the new "anti-cheating" companies rising in the game, a lot of innocent players have been banned for using abilities that have been put in the game to make it more fun. The funny part is I was banned by the people we hired, it was two companies, one lets me go because they actually did their job and kept records of server activities, and the other didn't so they gave me a reason for not lifting the ban. They didn't stay employed for long after that lets just keep it at that. Shortly after I was done and moved on to World of Warcraft.
This game is a different story. I, like many others, have been sucked into it as if it was crack. Every level brings new skills and abilities that can be used, and the endless amount of quest that are there to be unlocked. This for me is a short story mainly because I have nothing bad to say about it other then the fact that its a huge time sink. If you enjoy spending a lot of time outside, stay away from this game! But if you enjoy chatting with people online and being involved in a community then this is the game for you. You will get everything here, a very large community, teamwork to complete quests/instances/dungeons, and the epic loot everyone loves.
Counter Strike : Source is a game that I choose to play only at lans mainly because it seems like a game that is most enjoyable with a group of friends then the random people that hop on to play or create drama for others.
The Sims to me seems like a moody game, I only have the want or need to play it if I'm in a sad mood. Other then that it never gets touched or even moused over, and its right next to my "my computer" button.
Don't get me wrong its a very good game, but it does need a mind set to play it. I just can't get into that mind set every time I want to play so I reach for a different game.
Oh man, this has got to be my biggest post EVER, too bad no ones gonna read it he he. Oh well at least I had something to do :P

Hey I read it. Since then you've developed a love-hate relationship with rock band.
